Wat Si Saket Cloister Buddhas
#160314077
A pile of Buddhas that were damaged during the 1828 war with the Siamese on the north corner of the cloister hall surrounding the Sim of Wat Si Saket which was built in 1818 by King Anouvong (Chao Anou) (Sethathirath V). This temple is built in the Siamese style which may have spared it during the sacking of Vientiane in 1827 when the Siamese used it as their Headquarters. It was restored by the French in 1924 and 1930.
