Ananada Pagoda Buddha

The gold leaf covered 30 foot high south facing Kassapa Buddha image (representing one of four Buddhas who have attained nirvana) of the Ananda Pagoda, built around 1105 by King Kyanzittha. This statue, one of the originals, display the dhammachakka mudra, a hand position symbolising the Buddha's first sermon.
