Chinthe (lion statues) guarding the entrance of the Hsinphyumae (also Myatheindan) Pagoda which was built in 1816 by King Bagyidaw, the grandson and successor of King Bodawpaya. It was dedicated to the memory of Bagyidaw's first consort Princess Hsinbyume (Lady of the White Elephant, granddaughter of Bodawpaya, (1789-1812) and sits on the Irrawaddy just north of the boat landing of the village of Mingun
